U-Pick Farms

SpringHouse Farm

Named for the historic springhouse still standing on the property, SpringHouse Farm is rooted in both history and community. Mother–daughter duo Jean and Amy Fiedler started the farm in 2008 with nothing more than a table and umbrella. Today, their 8-acre organic farm has grown into a thriving hub for fresh vegetables, flowers, and a connection to the land.

The roadside Farm Stand is stocked seven days a week (May through October) with nutrient-rich, organically grown produce, cut flowers, and plants — making it a staple for the Boone and Vilas community. But SpringHouse offers far more than fresh food: seasonal u-pick flower fields, harvest dinners with local chefs, brunches, date nights, yoga sessions, and hands-on workshops make it a place where people gather to reconnect with the land and each other.

📍433 Silverstone Rd, Vilas, NC 28692

Land of Milk & Honey Farm

Just off Hwy 421 in Deep Gap, Land of Milk & Honey is a family-owned farm rooted in stewardship, community, and connection. For over 30 years, the land has been home to cattle, sheep, alpacas, donkeys, pasture-raised pigs, chickens, and honeybees — all cared for through rotational grazing and sustainable practices.

The farm offers tours several days a week, where guests can meet the animals, learn about beekeeping, and see firsthand how food is grown. Their on-site offerings include pasture-raised meats, eggs, honey bottled in their own honey house, baked goods, jams, and handmade items like beeswax candles and skincare.

Visitors can also extend their stay through a vacation rental next to the farm or as part of the Harvest Hosts program, with RV parking, shower, and laundry facilities available. Whether you come for an afternoon tour or a peaceful overnight stay, Land of Milk & Honey is a place to slow down, savor, and reconnect with the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
